Willow Flies Away; Owner Devastated: From The Tampa Tribune
From: NewsTrove.com
"The young cockatiel is about a foot long, has a crest of yellow feathers on her head, salmon spots on her cheeks and a gray-and-white body with a few yellow feathers thrown in.
As cockatiels go, she's a pretty standard bird.
But there's nothing ordinary about her.
To Willow's owner, Debbie, the bird was a soul mate, a symbol, a companion, a friend.
She made life worth living. She was a reason to get up in the morning. Another living creature to say good night to at the end of the day.
Willow flew away Jan. 11 while on her way with Debbie from their Carrollwood area home to have her wings clipped."
Real Cockatoo Facts!: Scaredy Dogs
From: NewsTrove.com
"Posted by BE2Casper (Member # 2991) on January 12, 2005, 07:38 PM:
Has anyone out there had any trouble with dogs getting used to too? My dogs are terrified of Casper. Its her sqawking. I thought if I let them keep their distance they would get used to her. No such luck. At first it was my Westie. Hiding upstairs all day. But she's a bit of a baby anyway. Loud noise scares her. She was a rescue from a terrible abusive environment. But my peke who is almost deaf is also hiding from Casper. Gizmo has always loved everybody and everything. He sits in the yard with the birds landing all around him and just watches."
A-B Passes on Jackson Super Bowl Ad Spoof
From: NewsTrove.com
"CHICAGO Anheuser-Busch said it considered running a spot during this year's upcoming Super Bowl that parodies Janet Jackson's infamous "wardrobe malfunction" that took place during the halftime show of last year's game, but decided against it after consultation with Fox and NFL officials.
"We basically came to the conclusion at the same time" that the commercial, created by Omnicom Group's DDB in New York, resurrected too many bad memories and therefore shouldn't air during the Super Bowl telecast, said Bob Lachky, vp of brand management and director of global brand creative for A-B."

Cockatiel Blogs from LiveJournal
From: www.livejournal.com
"The world of birds has turned me insane-moreso than I had already been. I find so often that I only want to express my mood in whistles. If I am happy. I whistle. If I'm listening to a good song on the radio, I whistle along. I just whistle. Before I got birds, I barely knew how to whistle, now it's a language. The problem is, when I'm in public this is dangerous. Especially since Smeagol's favourite whistles is the wolf whistle (the one you whislte when you think someone is attractive) and I've often whistled this randomly, only to later realize what I was insinuating. oh my. hah."
Pictures of Cloud's new toys and bath time
From: www.livejournal.com
"
I decided to add more toys to Cloud's cage today. I changed his perches (they were getting gross), added a mineral block/cuttle bone, some jingly lattice balls (he loves these things), and a sand perch on the very front outside of the cage. I even included a jingly rolling plastic toy for the floor of his cage. Does anyone else's bird like putting those kinds of toys in their water dishes?
Cloud hates bath time but loves being blowdried afterwards :)
Cloud advocates being a designated driver!"
Gleep
From: www.livejournal.com
"I've posted a few pictures of my little girl here before but none were of great quality so here is a few recent ones.
This is Gleep, I've had her for about 3 years now.
What the heck are you pointing at me?
I just thought this one was neat looking. She moved her head as the picture was taken. "
