I'm wanting to learn more and more about my cockatiels. I know quite a bit, but I also know there's more knowledge out there to be absorbed.
I'm not totally sure if this subject should be posted here, but I was wondering if anyone could direct me to any cockatiel sites that are full of information of just about everything on 'tiels."
lamonitor.com: The Online News Source for Los Alamos
From: NewsTrove.com
"Dear Editor,
We have three birds: two cockatiels and one conure. They are part of the parrot family. They are extremely intelligent, gregarious, and make incredible pets. They have free run of our house, and they are truly members of our home.
Last week we were having some furniture moved and while a door was opened, the conure was startled. He flew through the door and was gone. It was a devastating loss. In that year, we had lost Nymphe, our female cockatiel, from laying too many eggs, and Marisol, our cat, probably to coyotes after she sneaked out of the house one night."

"I got a 3-6mth old grey cockatiel from apet store approx 2

was really friendly and just wanted to b on u. The yell
tiel was scared and hissed and bit when u went near it. The
yellow tiels a lot better at coming to us and sometimes
steps onto us but is still very timid. The problem is that
when the grey one used to go near the yellow one she would

Cockatiel Blogs from LiveJournal

"How can you tell if your cockatiel is male or female? I went to this site that showed pictures of a bunch of different types of cockatiels and my bird looked like one of the males, but is there an official way to tell?"
Friend or Foe?
From: www.livejournal.com
"My boyfriend's mom has a cockatiel who is cagebound and really antisocial (she wasn't handfed, is the explanation I've been given.) She tolerates people and lets her owner take her in and out of the cage, but doesn't tolerate any human touching other than that. I was wondering if it would be any different if I brought Molotov over to her house and tried to let them hang out. I don't know if this other bird would try to bite Moli like she does people fingers?"
Friend or Foe?

"Poor little Zest. He has a brusied toe (claw?) He's limping... I cannot remember him limping yesterday... maybe he did it in his cage overnight. He still seems bright and alert."
