"Early in the investigation of her son's death, police told Tammy Givens that a witness followed a car carrying a group of suspects and reported the tag number. But after questioning the driver and two other people, police didn't have enough evidence to make an arrest, Givens said. As far as she knows, the person who fatally shot 20-year-old Antoine Williams on Aug. 8 is still walking the streets. Police need solid evidence to make an arrest, Givens said, but she fears her son's case is already cold and will never be solved, or worse, her son's killer will kill again. She doesn't want anyone else to endure that pain."

"I know everyone here has a 2004 cockatiel calendar. Before you throw it away, consider making a cockatiel collage out of the pictures. :3

Chicken Doodle and I selected a few choice pictures that resembled our flock to put up in an empty poster frame.

Here's the result.

This will have to do until we can get a pet psychic to get them to hold still for a professional group portrait. ;p"

Everyone has been posting such cute pics of their 'tiels, I thought I would share as well. I snapped this one on New Year's Eve showing Adrian (the whiteface), Jack (the pearl) and my daughter all watching TV on the couch. I thought it was a cute thing to see!

Tele' says Squawk!
From: www.livejournal.com

"Hello all, I've posted a few times, but figured that I'd introduce Tele'. (pronounced Telly)

That's her stealing a Christmas cookie
She is 13 months old. I got her in June and we lived with my boyfriend & best friend and people we constantly in and out of our house. In October, Tele' and I had to move to a new city where we no no one and she seems to be a bit sad now. She really can't stand when no one is around. In the old situation, a little NPR would tie her over, but I think that she's lonely now while I'm gone most of the time a work/the gym/volunteering. I've been tossing around the idea of getting her a companion, but can't decide if it's really a good idea or not. She was also really mean last week. When we came back from holiday with the family, after I had left her alone Monday she suddenly turned mean, and would just bite at me and fly back to her cage if I picked her up. Since returning home from the New Years weekend, she's back to nice Tele'.

Tele' loves millet and tofu but doesn't really like greens. This has been a bit of a problem lately b/c I've been an over concerned mommy and she's vegan, so can't have cuttlefish, so her not eating much kale isn't sitting well with me.
She can't talk, but squawks loudly and will squawk back and forth with me. She does long, muttled squawks early in the morning, so maybe she'll speak soon. She likes to climb down her ladder, across my room to my bike and climb up to the top of the front tire to sleep there. She also has a brick outside of her cage that she likes to sleep on. She doesn't have much interest in typical 'birdy' things, like toys or mirrors, but really likes it when I sew. She'll pick at the threads from the floor for a while then climb up my leg into the top of the machine. But her favorite thing to do it pick all the pins out of the pin cushion and scatter them all over the floor.

That's about all I have to say about Tele'. I had made some pictures of her for my bf which
