"These days, it's home to three dogs, a cat, a hamster, two chinchillas and a cockatiel. Previously, her family has had turtles, rabbits, fish and a chicken. "I draw the line at snakes, though," Corral said. "We're not going there." But as much as her family loves animals, she still was surprised when a show on the Animal Planet channel mentioned foster families for adoptable animals. "I didn't know you could even do that - that you could be a foster family without having the obligation of keeping the animal," she said."

"You don't know who Scott Peterson is, and it's going to be our job to show you," Harris said. The witnesses, he added, will create themes that will be "repeated over and over again." The bird recently landed on the ledge of the 7th floor of the building and cannot get down. It's believed to be a pet that escaped from its owner's home. New Bird Forum...help.
From: www.livejournal.com

"Hey, I'm working on a site for an assignment, and I decided to do a bird-related site. I need some suggestions/comments on my forum (http://s6.invisionfree.com/Hello_Pepper/index.php?). I haven't posted any rules or anything, I just have the forums set up. Here's what I need you to answer:

1. Is there anything you would like to see added?
2. Is there anything you would change (names of forums or categories, order of forums, etc.)?
3. Is there anything you would eliminate/condense?

Any suggestions are appreciated. Please post your replies in the "Suggestions Anyone?" forum...you don't need to register to post there.

"heyyo!

good news! the eggs that burley and george (not that ya'll know 'em) laid hatched and there are two healthy little baby cockatiels. =)

the first hatched wednesday night (which, ironically, is the same night i bought my birdcage. the birds are currently at a coworkers house, they're usually at the kennel/clinic where we work, but she took 'em home when they laid the eggs to reduce stress) and the second hatched thursday night.. (there was another egg that hatched between those two, but the lil chick didn't make it)

i'm pretty excited!

of course since they're still so young and tiny, we have no idea as to what the sexes are. (side note: do ya'll know when's the earliest the birds can be sexed? i'm so curious!)

allllsoooo, if ya'll are interested, please suggest some male and female names! i'd like a name that fits the character of a cockatiel =) and having never owned one, i figured you all would have a better understanding of that than i would...

thanks! =)"

"Polly is my youngest cockatiel. We just got her last Sunday. Yesterday I woke up and Polly looked like she was asleep standing up. I left her alone for a little while, but after about 45 minutes decided that she might not be asleep. She was very weak and wobbly.. I called Dean in a hysterical panic. Also called a breeder in a nearby town for advice. The decision was that she was malnurished when we got her. We tried feeding her baby bird formula with a syringe all day and most of the night yesterday, but it didn't do any good. She died this morning. I have just been devastated. I really did love her.. was bonding well with her.. and now she is gone. The breeder also said that it seemed she was sold too early and should have been a little older. He estimated her age to be around 6 weeks.

Anyway.. today we went back to PetSmart to get our money back. They offer a 14 day guarantee on their small animals. While we were gone, we got another tiel. His name is Jack, and he is a yellow, gray, and white pearl tiel. He is asleep in the cage with Adrian right now. They both seem to be adjusting well."
